Stockbridge Police responded to the following complaints this week:

12/25/2017 10:20 am: Stockbridge police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 200 block of S. Clinton Street. The driver, a 25 year old male Chelsea resident, was discovered to have a felony warrant for drugs out of Jackson County. Police arrested the male and met with a Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy and turned him over without incident.

12/26/2017 10:40 am: Stockbridge police were called to a local business in the 4500 block of S. M-52 in reference to a larceny in which a 27 year old female Stockbridge resident dropped a $100 bill inside the store and it was then picked up by a store employee and concealed. Police investigated and were advised that the employee, a 21 year old female Stockbridge resident, was observed on the store video camera system to have picked up the money. She was confronted by the manager and a district manager and denied any involvement. Police spoke to the employee at her residence and she later confessed to taking the money and turned it over to the police. the police returned the money to its owner. The owner did not wish to press charges against the employee.

12/27/2017 10:00 pm: Stockbridge police were contacted by a 31 year old female Stockbridge resident. She advised them that she had found a syringe inside her sister’s laundry and wished for it to be removed by an officer. The police responded to her residence and properly disposed of the needle. Stockbridge police spoke to the female about substance abuse and gave her information to assist her with this issue.

12/27/2017 10:45 pm: Stockbridge police were asked by Ingham County Command to respond to an unknown injury roll-over accident on Holland Drive near Parman Road. All responding units where coming from Mason and Stockbridge was asked to respond to secure the scene and check the condition of the occupants of the vehicle. Stockbridge police arrived and observed the driver and only occupant of the vehicle, a 55 year old male Stockbridge resident, picking up parts of his vehicle and placing them into the back of his truck. The male was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. Ingham County personnel responded and the scene and driver were turned over to the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office.

12/30/2017 12:50 pm: Stockbridge police received a call from an employee at a local business in the 100 block of E. Main Street. The employee stated that she had a shoplifter in her custody and wished for the police to respond. Police responded and spoke to the employee and the accused, a 67 year old female Stockbridge resident. The female admitted to coming into the store and taking items. All items were recovered from inside her purse, however, one of the items had broken during concealment. The employee requested that the female pay for the broken item. She did so. The store advised police that they did not wish to prosecute the shoplifter being that all of the property was recovered and they were compensated for the broken item.

12/31/2017 4:15 pm: Stockbridge police received a late report of a traffic accident that occurred at 10:30 am in the 300 block of E. Elizabeth Street. A 37 year old male Stockbridge resident was driving too fast for the current road conditions when he struck a utility pole while attempting to turn into his driveway. No injuries were reported only damage to the driver’s vehicle.

12/31/2017 10:10 pm: Stockbridge police assisted the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office with a suicidal subject in the 5400 block of S. M-106. The male, a 21 year old male from Grosse Point Woods, who had made suicidal statements to his girlfriend prior to police arrival was unconscious and breathing on the kitchen floor. The girlfriend informed the police that the male made statements about wanting to kill himself then passed out due to alcohol consumption. Lansing / Mason Ambulance arrived and transported him to Allegiance Hospital in Jackson to be petitioned into Community Mental Health. An Ingham County Deputy followed the ambulance to the hospital.

01/01/2018 9:00 pm: Stockbridge police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with a defective driver’s side taillight on N. Clinton Street near Herbert Street. The driver, a 17 year old male Stockbridge resident was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended license. Police issued the male a citation for the driver’s license violation and turned the vehicle and driver over to a registered driver.
