Cross Country Teams Compete at Greater Lansing Championships

The Stockbridge cross country team took part in the Greater Lansing Cross Country Championships at Ledge Meadows Golf Course in Grand Ledge Saturday and had a good showing in the large event.

The GLCCC is different then most invitationals as it does not divide the schools into divisions by size. The top seven runners from D4 schools compete against runners from large D1 schools.

The girls finished 13th out of 31 schools at the event.

Stockbridge finished with 331 points in the race won by DeWitt with 138.

Rylee Tolson finished third overall for the Panthers with a time 18:24.5. The winner of the race Jayden Theis was the defending Division 2 state champion and a four-time winner of the Lansing race, finishing in 17:59.2.   Kaitly Hines from DeWitt was just .6 seconds ahead of Tolson in 18:23.9.

The race had 231 girls running in the event.

Brianna Hill finished 44th with a season-best time of 20:54.8, while Kaitelyn Walker set a PR of 20:57.9 to finish 46th.

Rachel Owens was 109th in 22:24.5, Anna Schlaff a season-best 23:30.6 in 151st, Isabelle Bliss 158th in 23:41.9, and Grace Niec 164th in 23:52.6.

The boys finished 21st out of 35 schools at the event. They finished with 534 points in the race won by Haslett with 105.

Collin Cook led the Panthers with a 71st place finish in 17:43.5, followed by Dalton Satkowiak in 94th in 18:02.2.

Micah Bolton finished with a PR at the Lansing Race

Micah Bolton set a PR of 18:09.1 to finish 104th and Andy Schlaff was 126th in 18:28.8. Ryan Owen had a PR of 18:43 to finish 142nd, Ben Chapman a PR of 18:53.7 and was 154th, and Brock Jones 159th in 19:01.4. The race featured 248 runners.

The Panthers host the GLAC Finals Saturday. The girls are currently in first place in the GLAC standings, while the boys are second behind Leslie.
