Cross Country Teams Run Hard at Bath’s Clements Memorial Invite

The Stockbridge cross country teams continue to improve in the early season with the first GLAC jamboree scheduled for next week.

The teams competed in the Bret Clements Bath Invitational Saturday and came away with some strong finishes.

The boys’ team finished 10th out of 17 teams in Division 3. The Panthers finished with a team score of 237 in the race won by Hanover-Horton with 40.

Dalton Satkowiak medaled with a 28th place finish in 18:17 to lead the Panthers.

Freshman Micah Bolton just missed the top 30 with a 31st place finish and a PR time of 18:18. Andy Schlaff finished 58th in 19:07, while Brock Jones was 61st in 19:13.

Cameron Brewer ran a PR of 19:27 and finished 68th and Ben Chapman was 75th in 19:47. Jeff Debozy finished 90th in 20:25, Jonah Coffman 94th in 20:31, Brendan Wright 97th in 20:45, and Brandon Howlett 98th in 20:50.

The girls came home with an impressive 4th place finish. They finished with a score of 138. They finished behind three state-ranked teams. D4 #1 ranked Mt Pleasant Sacred Heart finished third with 104 points, D3 #8 ranked McBain was second with 88 points, and D3 #4 ranked Pewamo-Westphalia won with 56.

Rylee Tolson led the Panthers by bringing home another first-place finish with a time of 18:37. She finished over one minute ahead of the second-place runner.

The big improvement for the Panthers came in sophomore Kaitelyn Walker. She set a PR by cutting nine seconds off her previous best, finishing with a time of 21:34 and medaled with a 21st place finish.

Brianna Hill medaled with a 24th place finish in 21:54, while Rachel Owen was 53rd in 23:29. Grace Niec was 55th in 23:36 and Anna Schlaff 77th in 24:48. Peyton Killinger finished 81st in 25:11.8, Hailey Howard 82nd in 25:11.9, and Hannah Breslin 87th in 25:27
