Experimental Aircraft Association – Chapter 55 is pleased to invite pilots and non-pilots alike to join us as the Chapter hosts a variety of events this summer.
Young Eagle Aviation Days from 10 a.m. until 2 pm. on Saturday, June 10; Saturday, July 8, and Saturday, August 12.
Local pilots will be offering area youngsters ages 8 to 17 an opportunity to go flying in a general aviation airplane (weather permitting). These flights are offered FREE of charge and are made possible through the generosity of EAA member pilots and volunteers. Flights will be on a first come, first served bases; approximately 20 minutes in length. A parent or guardian MUST be present or provide a signed permission slip.
Young Eagles Aviation Day is part of the National EAA Young Eagles Program. Local Chapter 55 pilots have flown over 4,000 youngsters from the mid-Michigan area.
All Chapter 55 events are held at Mason Jewett Airport; Eden Road @ Kipp Road (south of the Ingham County Fairgrounds). Admission and parking for all events is FREE. Donations benefit the Newberry Aviation Scholarship Fund.

Stockbridge High Alumni Banquet will be held at Heritage Elementary School on Saturday, June 10, at 5:30 P.M. All Stockbridge High alums and their guests are welcome. With a cost of just $16 per person, the event provides a wonderful way to enjoy a dinner out and to meet up with friends from the past.
Chapter 55 will host a Dawn Patrol Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, June 11, from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. The “All-U-Can Eat” pancakes will be served with eggs, sausage, juice and coffee. Airplane rides will be available (weather permitting).

What: 2nd Annual Christmas in July Matching Grant Opportunity to support the work of Stockbridge Community Outreach. Stockbridge Community Outreach Board will match monetary donations up to a total of $3000 received by Monday July 31h at 3PM(closing) for our Christmas in July fundraising program.
Why: Stockbridge Community Outreach has seen an increase in the demand for services this year. Transportation, prescriptions and food assistance is just a few areas where the demand is high.
When: Monetary Donations will be matched if received between July 1st and received either in person or by mail by 3pmMonday, July 31. All donations are tax deductible (501C3).

(May 15, 2017) — Two Chelsea-area farmers markets, sponsored by St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea and The Wellness Foundation, opened earlier this month and are being held each week on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The Chelsea Farmers Market and the Bushel Basket Market bring fresh, locally grown or produced food to area residents at an affordable price.
Both farmers markets have temporarily changed their regular location, as construction for a new and more permanent farmers market will be built in the coming months at the Palmer Lot.
The Bushel Basket Market runs Wednesdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., and is located on the corner of M52 and Old US-12, in the Chelsea State Bank parking lot. The Chelsea Farmers Market is being held on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is located in the lower library parking lot along Park Street. Parking will be behind the Purple Rose Theater (128 Park St., Chelsea, MI 48118) or on side streets.
