On select Wednesdays this summer we will host programs and performers to entertain and educate. All programs are Wednesday, 10:30-11:30 a.m.

June 14   Zoo in Your Neighborhood

Educators from Potter Park Zoo will present ways to help animals like otters, beavers, ducks, and other animals that live near water. There will be no live animals.

June 21   Lansing Hoops

Miss Missy uses hula hoops, music, and dance to teach new ways to move and have fun.

June 28 Silly Sailor Snoopenheimer 

Magician Mat Emerick will put on a show as Silly Sailor Snoopenheimer on the S.S. Friendship. Mat includes stories, songs, juggling and mime along with magic.

    Saturday, Sept. 30, 10 a.m. to noon. Beckwith Preserve Clean-up. The Stockbridge Area Wellness Coalition (SAWC) Clean-Up Club is working with Legacy Land Conservancy to spruce up Beckwith Preserve, clearing brush and invasive species (autumn olives). Meet at the parking lot off M-106 on the east side of Stockbridge. Bring gloves and water bottles. You can also receive information about Legacy Land Conservancy and how they work with landowners to preserve farmland or undeveloped land.     NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP:  2:00 – 3:30 p.m., Sunday, October 15.  Here is an opportunity to learn how to capture great images, whether you are using your cellphone or a DSLR camera.  Photographer Thomas Nighswander, who specializes in State and National Parks photography, will begin this workshop indoors followed by a walk on the trails for hands-on practice with your camera.  The focus will be on what creates a great photograph, how to see with a creative eye, and how your camera can best capture those special moments.  Bring your own camera or cell phone.  Cost: $2/person or $5/family.
