FROM CADL STOCKBRIDGE

Over 400 people have signed up for the Read Woke Challenge so far!

by Head Librarian Sherri McConnell

A reoccurring theme in current events is diversity and inclusion. Among library staff that includes authors and book topics. To encourage community conversations in areas like poverty, social justice and Hispanic American voices, CADL is sponsoring the Read Woke Challenge now through October 31! Read books from three of the 10 available categories and earn a prize. Read from more categories and be entered into drawings for books, t-shirts and tote bags. You can sign up for the challenge at cadl.org/woke.

Also in October, CADL will move to a new level of service! What does that mean? Since June we have offered contactless pick up, and Stockbridge has kept us busy filling requests for books, movies, and Take & Make story, craft and science kits. Now we are planning to offer limited access to our in-branch computers, available by appointment. As I write this article not all details have been worked out, so check cadl.org to find the developed information.

Capital Area District Libraries’ Stockbridge branch is located at 200 Wood St. For more information, call 517-851-7810 or visit cadl.org.
