How boom in nationwide home sales affects local area

Information provided by Jackie Scheller

Residential real estate sales have been brisk during the past few years. The seller’s market has prevailed, and buyers have been left waiting for homes to come onto the market. In the past couple of months, a slight shift and correction has resulted in sellers lowering prices to attract buyer interest.

“In comparison to the years during our most recent recession, this is a boom time for the real estate industry,” Jackie Scheller of Rock Realty said. After researching multiple MLS systems, she reported that over the past 24 months, approximately 450 home sales occurred in SCN’s area of circulation.

Taking into account a national average of 2.3 people per household, this amounts to 1,000 new or shifting people in the area.

“We are grateful to have SCN as a source of information and a place to advertise that reaches new and existing residents,” Scheller said. “Well done, and congratulations on your two-year anniversary.”
