Police Blotter

Stockbridge Police responded to the following complaints this week:

6/25/18, 5:50 pm:  Traffic stop in the 4800 block of S. M-52 for unreadable plate.  Stockbridge police made contact with the driver, a 19-yr-old Chelsea man, and discovered he was driving on a suspended license.  He was detained and the vehicle was searched.  Drug paraphernalia was found inside the vehicle.  A records check on the subject showed two warrants out for his arrest.  Police arrested, Clayton Woody, and later turned him over to the Jackson County Sheriff.  The vehicle was impounded.  A warrant will be sought in Ingham Co. for driving while suspended.

6/26/18, 10:20 pm:  Operating while intoxicated arrest at M-52 and Green Rd.  Stockbridge Police assisted Ingham County on a domestic call on Morton Rd.  The accused had left the scene but the Ingham County Sheriff Department asked units to look out for the suspect vehicle which was a black Dodge Charger.  Stockbridge police observed the vehicle and noticed it was weaving.  The vehicle was stopped and upon contact with the driver, a 44-yr-old Grass Lake woman, it was suspected that she was driving intoxicated.  She was tested and eventually arrested and later lodged in the Ingham County Jail. 

6/28/18, 5 pm:  Assist Ingham Co. Sheriff with a two-car crash in the 5100 block of S. M-52. Stockbridge police made contact with the drivers, both from Stockbridge, and determined that it was a rear end collision.  No injuries reported.  One of the vehicles was not drivable.  The at-fault driver was cited for causing the crash.

6/28/18, 4:20 pm:  Stockbridge Police  took a child neglect complaint at the station.  The complainant was encourage to call Child Protective Services and file the complaint.  This case is being investigated.

7/2/18, 5:25 pm:  Assisted Ingham County in the 3900 block of Dexter Trail for a domestic trouble complaint.  Stockbridge police were asked to respond to the house after it was reported that the caller’s ex-husband was there trying to take their three children.  Upon arrival police reported hearing screaming children and dispatch reported that the father of the children and the caller’s boyfriend were in a heated confrontation.  Police arrived on scene and made contact with the men and children.  Once everything was calmed down it was determined that the father was a day early to pick up the kids for his court ordered visitation.  The scene was turned over to Ingham County Sheriff’s Department. 

7/2/18, 7:20 pm:  Rollover crash on Brogan and M-36.  Stockbridge police arrived on scene and found a vehicle on its roof.  The driver, a 24-yr-old Stockbridge man, was being attended to by SAESA.  It was determined that the driver had mechanical problems with the steering wheel.  The crash scene was later turned over to the Ingham County Sheriff’s Department. as it was north of the Village limits.
