Stockbridge Police responded to the following  recent complaints:

12/14/18, 2 pm:  Threats complaint in the 400 block of N. Clinton. Stockbridge police were alerted to a video that was sent via social media to several Stockbridge students by another student from Eaton County.  The posted threat depicted a handgun held in a suggestive manner.  Stockbridge police notified the Eaton Rapids Police Department of the situation and Eaton Rapids school officials were also notified by Stockbridge Community School officials.  The juvenile was identified and the matter was turned over to Eaton Rapids police.

            9:45 pm:  Warrant arrest.  Police were advised that the Michigan State Police- Jackson Post picked up a subject on Stockbridge warrants.  Stockbridge police took the 24-yr-old Stockbridge man into custody in Munith.

12/17/18, 8 pm:  Suspicious vehicle check in the 600 block of Cherry.  Stockbridge police were called about a suspicious vehicle that was occupied.  Upon making contact with the subjects, it was discovered that driver, a 24-yr-old Leslie man, was driving on a suspended license.  He was cited and released pending a warrant.

12/18/18, 1 pm:   Police assisted Ingham Co. Sheriff’s Department. in the 5400 block of S. M-52 with a suspicious vehicle complaint.  A woman called 911 after a man knocked on her door asking for gas and told her he had run out and his truck was parked near the rode.  She got frightened and thought maybe they were trying to break into homes and thought he should be checked by police.  Stockbridge police were requested to assist because of distance from Ingham County Sheriff office .  Police observed the truck leaving the area upon arrival occupied by several men.Police conducted a traffic stop at the BP in Stockbridge.  Upon making contact with all subjects, one of the subjects, a 39-yr-old Saginaw man, had a felony warrant for his arrest out of Tuscola County.  He was arrested and lodged in the Ingham Co. Jail.  No crime was discovered.

12/19/18, 4 pm:  two-car crash at M-52/M-106.  Minor damage.  No injuries reported.

12/20/18, 5 pm:  Police assisted Ingham Co. Sheriff in the 5500 block of Green Rd. with a breaking and entry in progress.  Police arrived on the scene and found no evidence of this and the occupant of the home was safe and thought he heard something.  Unfounded.

12/21/18, 8:50 am:  Missing person report at Elizabeth and Clinton.  Stockbridge police were contacted by the grandson of an elderly Stockbridge resident after he was unable to reach his grandfather.  The adult grandson advised that his grandfather was supposed to pick him up in Westland after he arrived back in Michigan from a two-week work related trip.  He advised that his grandfather never arrived in Westland.  After getting a ride back to Stockbridge and attempting to reach his grandfather by telephone throughout the night he contacted the police.  After making calls to local jails and hospitals, it was discovered that his grandfather had been involved in a one-car crash in Plymouth and was taken to a local hospital where he was admitted.  Alcohol was reportedly involved and he was being charged by Plymouth police.  Missing person complaint – unfounded.

12/22/18, 5 pm:  Assisted Ingham Co. Sheriff with a medical call in the 3900 block of Obrien.  Police arrived on scene and help  was not needed.  

12/27/18 8 am:  Threats complaint in the 100 block of S. Center St.  Police were alerted after a subject made threats against medics on social media and then vandalized two employee vehicles during the overnight hours.  Police responded and were advised of the situation, which stemmed from a medical call the previous night in which a Stockbridge man had to be physically restrained by medics after having a medical episode.  After reviewing security cameras; a suspect was developed.  Contact was made with the subject and a partial admission of guilt was obtained.  This is an open investigation.

12/30/18, 11:35 pm:  One-car crash near M-52 and Dexter Trail.  No injuries, minor damage to a resident’s mailbox.

1/1/19, 5 pm:  Traffic stop near M-52/M-106 for failing to stop at a stop sign.  Upon contact with the driver, a 19-yr-old Stockbridge man, it was discovered that he did not have a valid driver’s license.  It was further discovered that he had a felony burglary warrant for his arrest in the state of Texas which they would not extradite.  He was released with a citation only pending a warrant.

1/2/19, 4 pm:  Hit and Run crash complaint in the 200 block of S. Clinton.  Police arrived on the scene and discovered that the call was connected to a domestic situation.  Police were advised  that a man, later identified as a 20-yr-old Jackson man, was arguing with his girlfriend and when he angrily left in his vehicle he struck another vehicle and then failed to stop and identify himself.  Police made contact with the man later this day and obtained a confession.  He was cited for leaving the scene of property damage crash and released.

1/4/19, 6:45 pm:  Felony warrant arrest at Spring and S. Clinton St.  Police conducted a traffic stop for defective equipment and upon making contact with the occupants, it was discovered that the passenger, a 23-yr-old Lansing man, had a felony warrant out of the Michigan State Police – Niles Post for carrying a concealed weapon and possession of marijuana.  He was arrested and lodged in the Ingham Co. Jail awaiting pick up by MSP – Niles.
