Track Teams Send Three to D3 State Finals

The Stockbridge track and field teams will be sending three runners to the Division 3 State Finals at Jenison Saturday, June 1.

Rylee Tolson won three Regional titles and qualified in three events for the girls, while Micah Beauregard qualified in two events and Maison Beauregard one.

Tolson won titles in the 800, 1600, and 3200 races. She will be seeded seventh in the 800 with her qualifying time. Her time in the 1600 of 5:10 improved her school record time and she will be seeded sixth at the finals. She will be seeded seventh in the 3200 with her finish at the Regional

Micah was the Regional champion in the 1600 for the boys’ team. His time will give him the eighth seed at the state finals. He finished second in the 800, but ran the fourth fastest time in the state and will be seeded fourth at the finals.

Maison finished third in the 300 hurdles. He beat the state qualifying time by .16 to move on to the state finals. He will be seeded at the 18th at the Finals.

The girls earned a fifth-place finish at the Bath Regional with 50 points. Pewalmo Westphalia won the meet with 150.

Medaling for the girls with top-eight finishes were the 4×100 relay team of Isabelle Bliss, Elysia Medina, Hailee Fraser, and Grace Hall; the 4×200 relay team of Bliss, Fraser, Gwen Rogozinski, and Hall; the 4×400 relay team of Joy Youngblood, Audrey Austin, Tamara Lovas, and Sidney Gipe; the 4×800 relay team of Kaitelyn Walker, Rogozinski, Brooklyn Rochow, and Tolson; and Youngblood in the long jump.

The boys finished tied for 9th with 29 points. Pewalmo Westphalia won with 128.5.

Medaling for the boys with top-eight finishes were Ron Tolson 3200; the 4×400 relay team of Maison Beauregard, Isaac Lance, Luke Suojanen, and Micah Beauregard; and the 4×800 relay team of Jonah Coffman, Brandon Howlett, Jonah Huskey-Wright, and Brock Jones.

The teams will compete in the GLAC Finals Wednesday at Lakewood.
