2018 A Day in the Village Art Show
The Stockbridge Area Arts Council will be sponsoring the “A Day in the Village Art Show” at the Stockbridge Township Hall. It will be held Friday, June 15, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, June 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This annual event gives local artists a chance to display their work for others to enjoy. Some of the media used in the past were oils, water colors, color pencil on suede mat, photos on basswood, and mixed media, to name a few.
Each year the SAAC centerpieces the work of a featured artist. This year the Art Show honors the legacy of Ronald Fillmore, founder of the annual event, who together with his wife Hester, were devoted supporters of the arts in our community.
For a fee of $5, artists can submit up to three pieces of art. Awards will be presented for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, as well as Honorable Mention. In addition, a prize for People’s Choice will be awarded and is determined by votes cast by visitors to the show on Friday and Saturday.
If you would like to participate in the art show or for more information, entry forms will be available at the library in April, or you can go to the Stockbridge Area Arts Council Facebook page for updates and copies of the entry forms when they become available.
