2019 Lamp Post Decorating Competition

Information provided by Deanna Kruger, photos by Rose Collison, assembled by D. Rockall

This years lamp post decoration got a late start due to the bad weather, but ultimately received a large amount of support from local businesses and community groups. Although the numbers go to 40 there are only 32 poles throughout Stockbridge’s downtown decorated for Halloween.  Votes of $1 or more are being accepted at: Stockbridge Bowling Alley, Hometown Pharmacy, the High School office, Heritage Office, Adiska Dental, Abbott & Fillmore Insurance, the CADL Stockbridge branch, Chiropractor, Simply You, and Country Petals as well as the Friday Outdoor Market.
Deanna Kruger first saw the idea in Leslie and got support to start the program here.  She continues to organize and coordinate the event with support and financial control under the 501c3 supervision of Stockbridge Community School District’s PTO.
Only a few of the lamp posts appear on this page, but a walk through the downtown area will show all of them.  Below the 32 sponsors and the charities to which the money collected will be awarded.  Poles were scheduled to be decorated the week of October 1 and undecorated the week after Halloween.  Please take the time to enjoy them and cast a vote or two for your favorites.  Entry fee for decorating a lamp post was $20. Listed below are sponsored who paid the fees and Charities to which, if they are awarded the prize money will go.
