Following up on the blight issue regarding unlicensed vehicles around the Village of Stockbridge, Fred Cattell reports that about two-thirds of the vehicles have been removed.

Fred has stressed the willingness of the Village to help get this problem resolved, and is happy with the cooperation of the residents. He will continue to work with individuals until everyone is in compliance with the ordinance.

The Village Council is hoping residents will take advantage of the enormous dumpsters available during spring cleanup (the weekend of April 28) and rid their yards of accumulated junk. Junk will be next on the blight agenda after the vehicle problem has been resolved.

After receiving the necessary funding, the Stockbridge trails Steering Committee met with the DNR to discuss the next steps in the Lakeland trail improvements. The committee is now ready to put the construction project up for bid. A timeline has not been established for construction, but we are hopeful the project can be completed soon.

Our entire community will be impacted by this trail improvement. Starting in Unadilla Township through Stockbridge and continuing on to Henrietta Township, the Trail has been cut back drastically to make way for the coming construction. The Trail is very rough in spots now, especially near Munith, but will be a wonderful addition once completed.

Please be assured that we will do our best to accommodate not only walkers, but also people riding bikes and horses. Even though we are excited to offer 1 mile of asphalt paving in the Village of Stockbridge (skaters will love that addition), there will also be a natural path alongside for horses.
