As many local residents are well aware, the Stockbridge area is home to a strong and unique body of students. Eastyn Good, nominated and selected by school staff and administrators as Student of the Month, is one such young man.

This Stockbridge Elementary School student has faced exceptionally difficult challenges in his fledgling life. When asked to describe his most recent, greatest accomplishment, Eastyn wrote, “beating leukemia after a 3.5 year fight.”

While that accomplishment alone stands to make this kindergartener stand out as an extraordinary, Eastyn’s attitude serves as an even bigger gift to his community.

Born to Trish and Nick Good, six-year-old Eastyn is the third of four children. He says he has been significantly influenced by his brother, Mylo, who is “great at baseball.” Eastyn says he loves his family even when they “drive me crazy,” and he likes to ride his bike and play tee-ball.

Teacher Amy Taylor wrote that her student is “a hardworking boy with a heart of gold! He is a great friend for my special needs students. He ‘takes care’ of them with compassion and confidence.”

Eastyn says he lives by the goal of making other people’s days better. He believes everyone should “always keep going” and “never give up.”

Taylor stated that Eastyn has taught her a great deal.

“He tells me that he prays hard for some of his classmates that have a hard time with behavior,” she said, adding that Eastyn is an extraordinarily brave, strong, and kind young man who plans to gain awards at Stockbridge, become a police officer, and always help others.
