McDonald’s to reopen today in Stockbridge with donations to School and Grant Whitaker Scholarship Fund
by Patrice Johnson
Friday, Dec. 7’s grand reopening of the Stockbridge McDonald’s is set to begin at 11 a.m. with a flag raising ceremony. Clyde and Mary Whitaker, parents of the late Ingham County Sheriff’s Deputy Grant Whitaker, will be in attendance along with members of the Stockbridge Police Department, Stockbridge Fire Department, and Stockbridge Community Schools.
According to John Munsell, “In addition, McDonald’s in Stockbridge on Friday will be donating 20 percent of all sales to the Deputy Grant Whitaker Scholarship Fund.”
McDonald’s Owner/Operator Scott Karns is scheduled to present a $1,000 check to Stockbridge Community School leaders with money raised from the auction of artwork in the McDonald’s restaurant before the renovation. This artwork included original photography by local photographer, Dale Fisher.
