Softball Blanks Parma Western

Rain could not stop the Stockbridge softball team from rolling to its ninth straight win Thursday night as the Panthers blanked a strong Parma Western team 10-0.

Western entered the game with a 10-3 record, but it was all Stockbridge thanks to some wildness on the mound by Parma.

Panther batter took advantage of the wildness and walked 10 times in the game and were hit by a pitch twice.

Paige Wooden started things with an RBI single in the first as the Panthers took a 3-0 lead with just one hit in the inning. Hannah Gutting drove in a run in the third with a single to make it 5-0 and the Panthers were cruising.

The Panthers scored 10 runs with just six hits. Taylor Carey, Wooden, Hannah Lockhart, and Gutting each had a hit and RBI. Emily Breslin had a hit and two runs scored, while McKenzie Noble had a hit and run scored.

Breslin struck out seven and allowed just one hit for the Panthers on the mound.

Stockbridge takes on Lakewood i a big doubleheader Friday, between two teams that are undefeated in the GLAC.
