Anyone attending this year’s Homecoming events on Friday, Sept. 20 no doubt noticed an abundance of pink T-shirts. What was going on?

Sarah (Salow) Henderson, the mother of two Stockbridge students, is battling breast cancer. One student had an idea to do something for the family, and the entire football team rallied around it. Word spread quickly.

To raise funds for the family and show support, students decided to wear pink to the Homecoming game. T-shirts were obtained, and all 300 sold out in five minutes on Sept. 18, two days before the big game.

“It was a team idea and effort,” a varsity football player said. “The entire team worked to bring out the sales.”
