Obituary: William (Bill) Luke Donohue
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of William (Bill) Luke Donohue. Bill was born in Gregory, MI, December 8, 1940. He married Jeanette in 1963 and moved to Dearborn, MI. He eventually tired of the brutal, cold Michigan winters and moved to Coral Springs, FL, in 1977. He loved the sunshine and spent his days outside.
Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jeanette, his son, David, his daughter, Carla and grandchildren David William and Elizabeth. He was a wonderful husband and awesome dad. Being “Grandpa Bill” was his greatest joy.
He was predeceased by his parents Catherine Lucille and John Donohue – siblings John (Jay), Jim, and Joanne Donohue.
Whenever he spoke with one of his relatives, he always asked about the people he knew from his youth. Even in his final days, he spoke of friends and families from Gregory/Stockbridge.
People who knew Bill will remember him as kind soul. He loved just talking to people. He was always available to help someone no matter day or night. People loved his quirky sense of humor. He was a good listener and always made you laugh.
Bill’s passion was feeding the hungry. He regularly donated food to the local church food bank. If you would like to honor Bill’s memory, please donate a nonperishable food item to a local food bank.
