Cross Country Teams Run Hard at Webberville
The Stockbridge cross country teams took part in the Webberville Spartan Invitational and the Panther girls came home with a second place finish, while the boys finished fourth.
The girls finished with 46 points in the Division 3/4 race, finishing behind GLAC foe Lansing Christian with 30 points. New Lothrop was third with 62, and Webberville fourth with 101.
Rylee Tolson ran a career best time of 17:56.55 to win the race by over a minute.
Brooklyn Rochow was 7th in 21:01 and Brianna Hill 10th in 22:33. Julianna Debozy was right behind in 11th in 22:33.97. Kaitelyn Walker 19th in 24:24, Joy Youngblood 23rd in 26:26, Sidney Gipe 26th in 27:05, Peyton Killinger 28th in 27:48, and Kalysta Connolly 37th in 31:32.
The boys finished fourth in a very close race that saw just 10 points separate the top four teams.
The Panthers finished with 62 points. Webberville won with 52, Petoskey St Michaels Academy was second with 53, and Olivet third with 55.
Dalton Satkowiak led Stockbridge with a third place finish in 17:18.
Collin Cook was 9th in 17:36, followed by Ben Chapman 17th in 18:02, Micah Bolton 20th in 18:20, and Andy Schlaff 22nd in 18:24 to round out the top five Panthers.
Brock Jones was 24th in 18:45, Ethan Wright 27th in 18:58, Jonah Coffman 32nd in 19:11, Brendan Wright 33rd in 19:17, Brandon Howlett 41st in 20:13, Cameron Brewer 43rd in 20:26, DJ Chapman 46th in 21:19, and Brady Cole 59th in 29:35.
Ben Chapman, Ethan Wright, and Jonah Coffman all set PR’s at the race.
Both teams earned second place finishes at the first GLAC jamboree of the season at Lakewood September 22.
The boys finished with 40 points. Leslie won the race with 27, while Olivet was third with 61 and Perry fourth with 103.
Satkowiak again led the Panthers with a time of 17:37 to place third overall.
Bolton was 8th in 18:14 and C0ok 9th in 18:19. Rounding out the top five were Ben Chapman 11th in 18:25 and Jones 14th in 19:01.
Schalff was 18th in 19:14, Howlett 19th with a PR of 19:21, Ethan Wright 22nd in 19:39, Brewer 28th in 19:55, Coffman 29th in 20:16, Brendan Wright 35th in 20:59, and Cole 47th in 32:45.
The girls finished with 64 points. Lansing Christian won with 46, while Olivet was 3rd with 72.
Tolson won the race with a time of 18:34, followed by Rochow 10th in 21:30.
Debozy was 13th with a PR of 22:08, Hill 16th in 22:34, Walker 24th in 24:21, Killinger 35th in 26:34, Youngblood 37th in 26:58, Gipe 40th in 27:06, and Connolly 46th in 31:15.
The Panthers host the Stockbridge Invitational October 2nd and 3rd. A two day event with large schools Friday afternoon and small schools Saturday morning.
