Fatal crash reported in Stockbridge

Information from Stockbridge Police Chief Johnnie Torres,

The Stockbridge Police Dept. was called on July 28 at approximately 1:20 pm in reference to a motorcyclist being found in a wooded area just south of the corner of Morton Rd. and M-52.  The caller advised dispatch that the individual was deceased as a result of injuries sustained in the crash, and he had not been heard from in several days.

SPD, Michigan State Police and the Ingham County Sheriff’s Departments responded along with SAESA and investigated the fatal crash.  Preliminary investigation showed that the subject failed to negotiate the sharp curve at this intersection and left the roadway striking several trees resulting in his death.  The subject’s name is not being released at this time but he is a 30- yr-old male from Stockbridge.  The investigation was turned over to the Michigan State Police Accident Reconstruction Team and the Ingham County Medical Examiner.
