Stockbridge InvenTeam presents at conference in New Orleans

The Stockbridge InvenTeam traveled to New Orleans in December for the American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Meeting Bright STaRs (Students Training as Research Scientists) poster presentation. 

AGU is a nonprofit organization that contains scientists and enthusiasts interested in earth and space sciences. The conference had more than 26,000 attendees from around the globe, and featured organizations and universities such as Google, NASA, Johns Hopkins and Stanford. The Fall Meeting allows attendees to connect with other scientists from around the world, discuss research and expand their scientific passions. 

The InvenTeam was under the Bright STaRs branch of AGU, which mentors and provides STEM opportunities to middle and high school students. While there, the team presented its Plant the Moon research to AGU scientists and other attendees. Stockbridge students featured their two separate Plant the Moon projects, which focused on different ratios of lunar regolith to earth soil ratios. 

While attending the conference, the team met students from several other high school and middle school teams who also were able to explore opportunities for internships and higher education.

The Stockbridge team members who attended were Brooklyn Rochow, Brock Rochow, Hythem Beydoun, Jack Hammerberg, Logan Hollenbeck, Brianna Polenz and Eliana Johnson. They are mentored by high school STEM teacher Bob Richards.
