Panthers Fall to Hart at Olivet College

The Panthers dropped a high-scoring affair to Hart at Olivet College 54-41 September 15.
Jalen Rogozinski had a career night, passing for 455 yards on 27-39 passing for six touchdowns. The yards, completions, and touchdowns all put Rogozinski in second place in Stockbridge football history, with Mason Gee-Montgomery holding the record in all three.
Stockbridge jumped out to a 14-0 first quarter lead with Rogozinski TD passes to Drew Robinson and BrockRochow.
After a Hart touchdown to start the second, Rogozinski hit Zach Fletcher with a TD pass and connected with Robinson for a 76-yard score for a 27-16 halftime lead.
Things unraveled in the third for the Panthers with a fumble and two onside kick recoveries as Hart scored three times to take a 40-27 lead.
The Hart lead grew to 46-27 before Rogozinski hit Joey Ballagh with a 30-yard TD pass.
Hart would score one more time before the Panthers closed out the scoring with Rogozinski’s sixth TD pass, this time to Rochow.
Robinson caught 11 passes for 160 yards and two scores, while Brock Rochow caught six for 120 and two TD’s. Joey Ballagh caught four for 81 and a score, Fletcher two for 58 and a TD and Zac Rogozinski four for 36.
Gary Killinger had a big night for the defense with 17 tackles, while Zac Rogozinski had 14.
Springport
The Stockbridge football team opened its season in impressive fashion with a 38-0 pasting of Springport Friday night.
The Panthers dominated in all facets of the game, including a 309-90 advantage in total offense and 150-14 on the ground.
Stockbridge struck quickly with a pair of Drew Robinson touchdown runs in the first quarter. Robinson scored on runs from eight yards and 35 yards to give the Panthers a 14-0 lead.
The Panthers lead continued to grow through the air in the second quarter with Robinson catching a pair of TD passes from Jalen Rogozinski to push the lead to 28-0. Rogozinski and Robinson hooked up for scoring passes of nine and 60 for the big halftime lead.
The Panther defense got into the act in the third when Zac Rogozinski returned an interception 60 yards for a touchdown and a 35-0 lead.
Ballagh finished off his perfect night kicking with a 22-yard field goal while going 5-5 on extra points.
Robinson rushed for 115 yards on nine carries and two scores and caught five passes for 101 yards and two TD’s.
Jalen Rogozinski was 9-23 passing for 159 yards and two scores, while Zac Rogozinski rushed 40 yards on 12 carries. Zach Fletcher caught three passes for 45 yards and Shannon Henderson one catch for 13 yards.
Rochow intercepted two passes and had three tackles to lead the defense.
Killinger led with six tackles, while Ethan Monaghan was in on five tackles. Zac Rogozinski had three tackles and one interception, Josiah Muzzin had two tackles and an interception, and Foster Pybus had three tackles and a fumble recovery.
Leslie
The Panthers had a rough time against rival Leslie, falling behind 33-0 in the third quarter and dropping a 40-14 decision to the Blackhawks.
Jalen Rogozinski connected with Drew Robinson and Zac Rogozinski in the fourth quarter for the Panthers scored.
- Rogozinski finished 15-37 passing for 169 yards.
Zach Fletcher caught four passes for 67 yards and Robinson three for 38 and a score. Zac Rogozinski caught three passes for 25 yards and a score, Joey Ballagh two for 16, Shannon Henderson one for seven, and Brock Rochow two for six.
Gary Killinger led the defense with ten tackles, while Foster Pybus recovered two fumbles and Robinson picked off a pass.
Manchester
The Panthers led Manchester 15-12 after three quarters before falling to the Flying Dutchmen 27-15 to fall to 1-2.
Killinger was 16-25 passing for 165 yards and one TD.
Robinson caught four passes for 78 yards and caught a 39-yard TD pass. Fletcher caught four for 48 yards, Rochow six for 23, and Zac Rogozinski five for 16.
Z. Rogozinski rushed for 50 yards and a three-yard TD run.
Killinger led the defense with 11 tackles.
The Panthers are 1-3 on the season with two of the losses coming to undefeated state-ranked teams.
