Bringing family fun and fresh energy to the market

by Amanda Hanson

Editor’s Note: Amanda Hahn had recently been introduced as the Open Air Market assistant manager. Unfortunately, due to a family relocation, Hahn had to resign. Amanda Hanson, previously the market’s event coordinator has now moved into the position of OAM assistant manager.

Hello Stockbridge Community!

My name is Amanda Hanson, and I’m incredibly excited to be named assistant manager of the Open Air Market of Stockbridge to help bring new family activities, children’s events, and community experiences to our market season.

I’m a mom to two wonderful daughters who keep life busy, adventurous, and full of creativity. As a family, we love spending time outdoors, gardening, biking, and finding ways to stay connected to our community. Those experiences are a big part of what inspires me in both my personal and professional life.

Professionally, I work in youth programming and child care leadership, where I’ve had the opportunity to create engaging activities, family events, and welcoming spaces for children and families of all ages. One of the things I value most is creating moments that people remember—the simple, meaningful experiences that bring a community together.

That’s exactly what I hope to help build here at the market.

The Open Air Market of Stockbridge already offers something truly special: a warm, welcoming gathering place filled with local vendors, fresh products, and friendly faces. My goal is to build on that strong foundation by creating family friendly activities and traditions that add even more excitement and connection for our community.

From kids’ activities and seasonal contests to interactive events and special themed nights, I hope families leave the market not only with local goods, but with happy memories made together.

I’m also excited to encourage partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and community members who may want to bring something unique and special to the market for our younger visitors. Whether that’s hands on activities, demonstrations, crafts, games, learning experiences, or community booths, I would love to help create opportunities for more people to get involved in making the market an exciting place for families and children.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of something so community centered, and I look forward to meeting many of you throughout the season. Be sure to stop by, say hello, and join in the fun. We have some exciting things planned!

See you at the market!

The Open Air Market is held on Fridays, May through mid-October, at the Stockbridge Township Square. Hours are from 4 to 7 p.m.
