Garden Club members gather among dahlias and zinnias

Stockbridge Area Garden Club members gathered at Sally Keene’s dahlia and zinnia garden on Sept. 14 for an event hosted by Jill Peck and Joan Tucker.

Following a short meeting, Keene shared how her garden began when she was asked to provide flowers for her nephew’s wedding. She decided to grow the flowers herself, with her husband, Mike, working alongside her to bring the beautiful garden to life.

Keene demonstrated how to properly cut dahlias and zinnias to support continued plant growth. Her longtime friend Renee Basore also shared examples of floral arrangements, which were displayed on the tables and inside the “She Shed.”

With guidance from Keene and Basore, each attendee created a bouquet to take home as a colorful reminder of a beautiful day in the garden.
