CADL’s Response to COVID-19
On March 10, it was announced that two Michigan residents tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the first confirmed cases in our state. Keeping members and staff safe and healthy is our top priority. As such, we’ve made important changes to our procedures and events.
Starting immediately, we have begun canceling meeting room use and outreach events. Starting Monday, March 16 all library events will be canceled until further notice.
The library’s senior management team is following and complying with recommended CDC procedures. All staff members have been encouraged to follow CDC guidelines to minimize risk. In addition, we’ve increased the frequency of cleaning and sanitizing of children’s toys, equipment, hard surfaces and public computers.
We encourage any concerned members, especially those in high-risk populations, to stay home if they are feeling ill or are simply concerned about potential exposure. If you’re sick and won’t be able to return your items on time, please reach out to branch staff or our online chat service for help. For members who qualify due to illness or disability, our free Books by Mail service is a wonderful option. Call 517-334-1528 for more information.
As always, CADL members may download or stream books, movies, magazines and music from cadl.org/digital directly to any computer or mobile device.
If there are further impacts to CADL as a result of coronavirus, we will share updates through our member emails, social media and website. You can also contact your local branch or use our online chat service for updates.
Thank you for your understanding during this challenging time.
Sincerely,
Scott Duimstra, CADL Executive Director
