have a different themed room.

St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea to offer series of free mental health classes this spring

CHELSEA, Mich. (April 2, 2019) – This spring, St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea will host a “Minding Your Health Series,” which includes three educational programs aimed at improving mental health in the community. These events are free and open to the public. All classes will be held inside the Chelsea Wellness Center, located at 14800 E. Old US Hwy. 12 in Chelsea. Please register by calling the Chelsea Wellness Center at 734-214-0220. The dates, times and class topics are:

Date: April 8

Time: 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Topic: Why Diets Fail

Description: Learn to better understand the roles food and exercise play in our lives, and what might really be in the way of lasting change.

Date: May 6

Time: 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Topic: Finding Help: When to get it and where to go

Description: Learn when to seek mental health treatment and where to find the support needed.

Date: May 29
Time: 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

Topic: Aging at Home: Is it safe?

Description: Learn about the medical conditions and medications to watch for as you age, risk factors of living alone, how to complete a home safety assessment and when to consider a driving evaluation. Individuals will also learn about geriatric psychiatric evaluations and neuropsychological evaluations

Kids Read to Oliver (Ages 6 & up)
Kids will enjoy reading aloud to a specially trained golden retriever.
Wednesdays, March 13, April 10, May 8 • 6–6:30 p.m.

We will be in the First Presbyterian Church CE Building, 101 S. Center in Stockbridge 11 am to 3 pm on Saturdays.

January 12, February 9, March 9 and April 13

Vendors will include cheese, honey, bread, baked goods, chocolates, lotions, art, woodworking, hot sauces, relishes and eggs.

The Presbyterian women will be serving a soup, salad and sandwich luncheon during the market.

Local musicians will perform from Noon to 2 pm.

The Plainfield United Methodist Church will be serving a Chicken and Biscuit Supper on April 13 beginning at 5 p.m. at 17845 M-36, north of Gregory. Free will donation. Take out available. All are welcomed. For more information contact Kate Humrich at 517-851-8932.

The Stockbridge American Legion Riders Post 510 will be hosting their 10th Chili Cook Off on April 13 from 1-4 p.m at the Stockbridge American Legion Hall. $5 to enter gets attendees a chance to try all the unique chili dishes and vote for favorites. Door prizes, 50/50 drawings and raffles throughout the afternoon. The big raffle will be a Weber Grill, and this year the ARL has also added a photo booth.

The ALR not only helps many veteran causes, but gives back to the community.

from 10a.m. until noon. Food and clothing are available
every 3rd Saturday of the month during 10 until noon

Stockbridge Lions traditional annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held at Noon on Saturday, April 20th at Veterans Park,  Stockbridge.  Children’s ages range from toddlers on up.  This very popular event will be held rain or shine.

Heritage Elementary School

Bumbershoot is a fundraising show that solicits contestants for our Karaoke Dodgeball Contest and matches them with appropriate sponsors. Act Sponsors may opt to provide their own contestant for the Karaoke Dodgeball Competition. Audience members will be encouraged to buy balls to throw at contestants. 4 balls for $1 or unlimited pass for $5.

It takes place at Heritage School cafeteria on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. General seating is $2 per person and $5 per family.

First Presbyterian Church of Stockbridge

The First Presbyterian Church of Stockbridge invites you to join us for a musical presentation of the Easter Cantata “Calvary’s Love, Christ’s Sacrifice and Triumph” on Saturday, April 20th at 7:00 pm. We are located at 101 South Center Street.

The choir, along with musicians from Michigan State University and Alma College and led by Marina Stojanovska, will be performing together for the fourth year. Dale Schoenberg will be our guest narrator.

Admission for the concert is free and there will be a light reception to follow with a free Will Offering to help Stockbridge Community Outreach.
