Updated 6:20 a.m. ET Aug. 5, 2020
Tax issues on the ballots in Greater Lansing passed handily, according to unofficial results.
With all 115 Ingham County precincts reporting preliminary results, 76% of voters were supporting a new property tax for elder care services and 79% were backing a renewal of the 911 millage.
The elder care tax would levy 0.3 mills for four years, supporting programs such as Meals on Wheels and in-home care. The tax expected to raise $2.3 million during the first year.
The 911 services millage was first approved by Ingham County voters in 1996. The renewal will levy 0.85 mills for 10 years, raising $6.5 million during the first year.
