Harvest Moon Festival: free entertainment for the family

The Village of Stockbridge Harvest Moon Festival 2021, sponsored by the Stockbridge Downtown Development Authority, takes place at Veterans Memorial Park on September 10 and 11.

The schedule is as follows:

Pre-Glow Celebration: Friday, Sept. 10

Noon to 11 pm ~ Beer Tent at Veterans Memorial Park

Main Festivities: Saturday, Sept. 11

10 am to 5 pm ~ Free Entertainment for the Family at Veterans Memorial Park

Featuring: Ultimate Air Dogs Show, Huge Zipliner, 25 ft. Rock Climbing Wall, Bounce Houses and 50 ft. Obstacle Course.

Noon to 11 pm ~ Beer Tent at Veterans Memorial Park

    What: “A Joyride in Memory Care” by Rick Sperling
    When: Sunday, Sept. 21, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
    Where: Ella Sharp Museum Grand Community Room, 3225 4th Street, Jackson, MI

    Admission: Free (Donations welcome). The event is designed to be welcoming to all, with free on-site respite care available and refreshments provided.
    This event is part of a broader effort to foster dementia-friendly spaces where caregivers, families, and community members can connect, learn, and honor the experiences of those living with memory loss. This social impact theater piece is supported by Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, the Jackson Community Foundation,
    Dementia Friendly Services, Jackson County Medical Care Facility, and the United Center for Caring.

    FALL MUSHROOM HUNT:  2:00 – 3:30 p.m., Sunday, September 21.  Come search the woods to find and collect fall mushrooms!  Afterwards, mushroom experts Phil Tedeschi and Kirk Coppernoll will look at your collection and identify those that are edible and those that are poisonous.  Bring a basket or paper bag and waxed paper for collecting. Cost: $2/person or $5/family. Eddy Discovery Center, 17030 Bush Rd. in the Waterloo Recreation Area near Chelsea.  Program limited to 35 participants.  The building is closed so program will be entirely outdoors.  Please register for this program by emailing waterloonha@gmail.com with your name, phone number and number of people attending.
