ROCKHOUND BASICS: 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. Saturday, June 17. Discover what you can learn about ancient Michigan from looking at a rock. Geologist Larry Bean will show you how to “read” the story told by rocks and help you to identify specimens at a local quarry. We will meet at the Discovery Center before driving to the quarry to do some collecting. Cost: $2/person or $5/family. Eddy Discovery Center, 17030 Bush Rd. in the Waterloo Recreation Area near Chelsea. Please register in advance at 734-475-3170.

Let’s meet up at the rink and carve up the ice! Ice skating is a great way to have a good time while also staying active, and 5 Healthy Towns Foundation has teamed up with Chelsea State Bank to put together a teen skating event for the local youth in the 5 healthy towns communities. Carve it up at the Coliseum is an initiative created by local teens in 2021. Our goal is to encourage local teens to participate in getting active in fun, healthy ways. The event takes place on Saturday March 22nd, from 1-3pm. The event is free and includes free ice time, skate rentals, snacks and more!
