Address: 775 S Main St, Chelsea, MI 48118, USA

CHELSEA, Mich., (Feb 26, 2020) – The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea will host a free Family-to-Family Educational Program in Chelsea to help parents, friends, and care givers understand and support individuals with serious
mental illness -- such as major depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and posttraumatic stress disorder -- while maintaining their own wellbeing.

The Family-to-Family program consists of a series of 12 weekly classes led by a team of trained NAMI volunteers who understand what it is like to have a loved one struggling with a chronic psychiatric condition.

This course teaches the basics about serious brain disorders and treatments, helps connect families to community resources, and teaches important skills and coping techniques for the difficult journey.
