EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT ASSN. – CHAPTER 55 AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS:
The Experimental Aircraft Association-Chapter 55 of Mason has named two students as recipients of their Newberry Aviation Scholarship for 2020.
JuliAnne Miller was awarded a scholarship in the amount of $1,000. She is a student in the Lansing Community College School of Aviation Technology located at Mason Jewett Field, Mason, MI. JuliAnne plans for a career in aviation fleet management.
Chloe Minor was awarded a scholarship in the amount of $1,500. She is a student pilot at Crosswinds Aviation in Howell and recently completed the requirements for her Private Pilots License. Chloe plans to advance her flight training to enter military service and eventually become an airline pilot.
EAA Chapter 55 has a long standing commitment to support educational opportunities for students seeking aviation careers. These students were chosen based on a combination of academic achievement and defined goals for the future. The Chapter raises funds to support their scholarship program by hosting a pancake breakfast in June and Mason Aviation Day in August.
