FROM CADL STOCKBRIDGE
by Head Librarian Sherri McConnell
Winter is truly here, and it’s time to stay warm and cozy inside. CADL staff have created lots of programs you can enjoy from home during these cold winter months, even without a library card. You’ll find a film club, genealogy presentations, a writer’s group, Animal Crossing club, trivia nights and much more. If you want to join a program lead by a Stockbridge staff member and see a familiar face look for these programs: Keep Calm and Carry Yarn!, the Third Thursday Book Group and CADL Adventure Club – D&D InterWebs Chapter. Learn how to join any event at cadl.org/events.
If you’re looking for a movie to watch when it’s cold outside, check out CADL’s two streaming services, Kanopy and hoopla. A library card is required to use these services. Kanopy has classics, independent and foreign films as well as lots of kids’ films and books on video. hoopla (yes, with a lower-case h) has classic TV series, movies and exercise videos. They both offer documentaries and The Great Courses video classes. Find more information at cadl.org/digital. So, remember, while you can’t go to the library right now to check out a DVD, CADL still offers movies and other entertainment when you just want to stay inside and keep warm.
