Rose Marshall, a library assistant at CADL Stockbridge, has been recognized with the prestigious 2024 Dr. L. Robert McConnell Award for Customer Service. This award celebrates staff members who exemplify excellence in their roles, going above and beyond to enhance library services and foster community connection. Named in honor of one of our founding board members, Dr. L. Robert McConnell, the awards are a tribute to the outstanding dedication and innovation that make CADL a cornerstone of the communities we serve.

For more than two decades, Rose has been a steadfast presence at the Stockbridge Library, earning a reputation as both a trusted expert and a kindhearted advocate for patrons. Her deep knowledge, thoughtful recommendations, and kind demeanor have made her an indispensable part of the library experience at the Stockbridge Library. Library goers frequently ask, “Is Rose here?” knowing they will receive exceptional support and care, whether it’s during a lively family storytime or a quiet, one-on-one interaction. Next time you visit the Stockbridge Library, be sure to congratulate Rose on this well-deserved recognition and help us thank her for the many ways she enriches our community.

The library has some special programming coming up in December. For the whole month, search the library for wintry images and objects, and if you find everything in the scavenger hunt, you win a prize. On Wednesday, Dec. 18 from 4 to 7 p.m., decorate a mini “gingerbread” house with graham crackers and candy. Finally, on Friday, Dec. 27 from 4:45 to 6 p.m., you’re invited to a craft and movie night where we’ll make a wintry craft and watch “Ernest and Celestine’s Winter Tales.” This is geared for ages 8 and younger, but all ages are welcome.

The Capital Area District Libraries’ Stockbridge Branch is located at 200 Wood St. For more information, call 517-851-7810 or visit cadl.org.
