Girls varsity softball beats Vandercook Lake HS/MS 8 – 3

Stockbridge snatched the lead late in the game in an 8-3 victory over Vandercook Lake on Friday. The game was tied at two with the Panthers batting in the bottom of the fifth when Paige Wooden singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.
In the bottom of the third inning, Stockbridge Panthers Varsity tied things up at two when Katelyn Knieper doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.
Breslin led the Panthers to victory on the pitcher’s mound. She went seven innings, allowing three runs on nine hits, striking out 12 and walking one.
Stockbridge Panthers Varsity collected 11 hits on the day. Lena Jackson, Taylor Carey, Wooden, and Knieper each had multiple hits for Stockbridge Panthers Varsity. Jackson led Stockbridge Panthers Varsity with three hits in three at bats.
