If you’ve noticed a facelift on the old Schultz/Runciman building beside the railroad tracks on the south end of town and are wondering what’s up, meet Todd Pybus and his business, Belfost Construction.

Belfost provides general construction services to commercial establishments. It currently contracts its services exclusively to Dollar General Stores, doing everything from property-line fencing to drywalling.

“We do it all,” Todd said, “except electrical, plumbing, and heating and cooling.

No stranger to Stockbridge, Todd and wife Jody moved here from Howell 16 years ago. They found the area a good place to live and in close proximity to Jackson where Todd sold commercial construction material.

Then U.S. Gypsum bought out the Jackson business. Todd and Jody, now parents to Bella and Foster, asked themselves: Why not open a business in Stockbridge where Bella and Foster go to school?

“We decided that we should become more embedded in Stockbridge,” Todd said.

He named the new business after his children, and Belfost Construction has been in operation since 2011.

Todd also bought and refurbished the building that houses the archery range on the corner of M-106 and Brogan Rd.
