Michigan Bankers Association Announces New Board Chairman, Jeanne Richter, President & CFO of Farmers State Bank
The Michigan Bankers Association (MBA) has announced the election of Jeanne Richter, President and Chief Financial Officer of Farmers State Bank, as chairman of their Board of Directors.
“We are proud to support Jeanne in her work with the Michigan Bankers Association,” states Craig M. Goodlock, Chairman & CEO of Farmers State Bank. “Jeanne’s experience and understanding of the financial industry will greatly benefit the Michigan banking industry in this role as MBA Chair.” The Michigan Bankers Association has been the voice of the banking industry since 1887 and consists of Michigan financial institutions with more than 2,800 branches located throughout the state. The MBA promotes strong communities and economic activity in Michigan by advancing a positive business environment.
Ms. Richter joined Farmers State Bank in 2000 as Financial Officer progressing to Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 2002. In 2005 she was elected to the Bank’s Board of Directors and was named President in 2009. Jeanne began her banking career as an Examiner for the North Dakota Department of Banking after graduating from North Dakota State University.

Jeanne has been involved in a variety of positions in the financial industry outside of Farmers State Bank demonstrating her commitment to community banking including the MBA Internal Audit Committee and MBA Compliance Committee,
as well as the American Bankers Association (ABA) Government Relations Committee Advisory Council and the ABA Community Bankers Council.
Richter completed a three-year term on the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS) Commissioner’s Bank Advisory Council (2012-2015). She was appointed by Governor Rick Snyder in 2011 to the Office of Regulatory Reinvention (ORR) Insurance and Finance Advisory Rules Committee which was responsible for producing advisory recommendations to the ORR for changes in Michigan’s existing regulatory climate. She has been active in Stockbridge Community Schools Homework Help, a program sponsored by the bank to assist students after school hours with homework and learning. Jeanne lives with her husband and teenaged son in Williamston.
