Michigan McDonald’s Restaurants to Donate 20 Percent of Mobile App Sales to Local High School Athletics
341 High School athletic programs to receive funds earned during October 3 High School Sports Digital Fundraiser

MICHIGAN – (October 3, 2024) – McDonald’s fans across Michigan have the chance to support their local high school athletic programs next week. McDonald’s Owner/Operators across the state will be raising funds for local high school athletic programs on October 3. During the High School Sports Digital Fundraiser Day, 20 percent of all sales made through the McDonald’s app will be donated to local high school sports programs.
Each locally owned McDonald’s restaurant has chosen a high school in their community to donate 20 percent of all mobile app sales on October 3. Each identified high school will receive a minimum of $250.
This year marks the first time Michigan operators are hosting a High School Sports Digital Fundraiser. McDonald’s Owner/Operators in Ohio were the first to launch this type of fundraiser last year as a way to support high school athletics in the communities they serve.
“This is the first-time owner/operators throughout the state have come together on one day to show our support for athletics in the communities we serve,” said McDonald’s Owner/Operator Marissa Thrower-Fisher. “Our hope is that the local communities will come out to support their high schools and help us make the High School Sports Digital Fundraiser Day a success throughout the state.”
The McDonald’s app is available for download in the Apple App Store and the Android Google Play Store. With the McDonald’s app, customers get access to exclusive deals, they can order ahead and pass the line with Mobile Order & Pay, plus they can join MyMcDonald’s Rewards to earn points on every order to redeem for free McDonald’s.
