    St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea and The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Washtenaw County will host a free peer-to-peer educational program for families, friends and caregivers of individuals diagnosed with a mental illness such as major depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and posttraumatic stress disorder. The class will be led by trained peer mentors who also live with mental illness. This is not a support group, but a supportive, safe and confidential program.

    This course teaches the basics about serious brain disorders and treatments, helps connect people to others who share a similar experience and teaches important skills and coping techniques for their difficult journey.

    Class meets weekly and starts:

    Date: Thursday, March 15, 2018 for 12 weeks.

    Time: 6 – 8 p.m.

    The Stockbridge Area Wellness Coalition and the 5 Healthy Towns Foundation are very proud and excited to host the BRIDGE TO WELLNESS CHALLENGE.  The BTWC is a FREE 15-week weight loss and wellness challenge which kicked off on March 3rd and runs through June 15th.

    As part of the CHALLENGE we will be hosting a “Wellness Series” of six community events focused on “Moving More” and “Eating Better”.  These events are not only OPEN to the CHALLENGE participants, but FREE AND OPEN to all community members.  We welcome and encourage everyone to participate and take advantage of these educational and physical programs.

    Vendors and Soups will be the scene at the Presbyterian Church Community Building this Saturday, April 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Patrons are invited to visit our vendor booths of the Open Air Market brought indoors.

    Enjoy a delicious lunch of a variety of soups, sandwiches and a dish of salad plus dessert.

    All your familiar vendors will be there with honey, eggs, soap, hot sauces and more, artwork, woodwork, embroidery, baskets, bread and pies.

    The Ann Arbor Electrical Joint Apprenticeship Training Center’s Union 4 Life breast cancer charity will host its annual Charity Bowling Night on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Airport Lanes Bowling Complex in Jackson, Mich.

    Tickets for the event are $30 per person or $55 per couple and include 3 games, shoe rental costs and dinner. Activities at the event will include bowling, a silent auction, 50/50 raffle and a cash bar. All proceeds from the event go to the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Breast Cancer Research program.

    The Stockbridge Area Wellness Coalition and the 5 Healthy Towns Foundation are very proud and excited to host the BRIDGE TO WELLNESS CHALLENGE.  The BTWC is a FREE 15-week weight loss and wellness challenge which kicked off on March 3rd and runs through June 15th.

    As part of the CHALLENGE we will be hosting a “Wellness Series” of six community events focused on “Moving More” and “Eating Better”.  These events are not only OPEN to the CHALLENGE participants, but FREE AND OPEN to all community members.  We welcome and encourage everyone to participate and take advantage of these educational and physical programs.
