Panthers Run Past Marshall Academy
A huge first half gave the Stockbridge basketball team a big halftime lead and the Panthers were able to hang on to beat Marshall Academy 75-60 Tuesday night.
The Panthers jumped out to a quick 19-12 lead after one quarter thanks to nine first quarter points from Chris Hall.
Stockbridge dominated the second quarter, outscoring Marshall 25-9 to take a commanding 44-21 lead at the half.
Ty Ayers was a force inside in the second scoring nine points and helping the Panthers take control of the game.
Marshall Academy made a game of it in the third outscoring the Panthers 23-14 to cut the lead to 58-44 after three, but Stockbridge righted the ship behind 11 fourth quarter points by Hall as they cruised to the win.
Hall finished with a team high 24 points for Stockbridge.
Ty Ayers finished with 13 points, while Brandon Nelson added 11. John Morris finished with 10 points, Jeremy Pilch eight, Noah Robidou five, Josh Lewis and Brock Jones two each.
The Panthers improved to 3-2 overall on the season. They host Olivet Friday night in a boys/girls varsity doubleheader.
