Panthers Fall to Perry in Three Sets

The Stockbridge volleyball team had a rough night Tuesday as the Panthers dropped a three set match to Perry 23-25, 17-25, 25-27.

The Panthers battled hard in the first set, but costly service errors helped the Ramblers pull out the set. Stockbridge miss hit their final four serves of the set to give the Ramblers their final four points to pull out the set 23-25

Perry carried the momentum into the second set, taking a 13-3 lead before the Panthers would rally. Stockbridge tried to battle back and got within 22-17, but the Ramblers would close out the set 25-17 to take a 2-0 lead.

Stockbridge took control early in the fourth set as they looked to battle back, but Perry would rally and take a 24-22 lead. The Panthers saved a pair of match points with Megan Mackinder scoring on three straight serves to take a 25-24 lead. Perry saved a set point and scored the final two points to pull out the 27-25 set win and clinch the match 3-0.

Maggie Jones had a big night with 15 digs and nine kills, while Grace Burg had 19 service points and five assists. Taylor Lockhart chipped in with seven kills and seven points, Maddie Dalton 17 assists and seven points, and Gracee Robidou 21 digs.
The Panthers finished 1-5 in the GLAC and will take part in the league tournament Saturday.
