Seven Panthers Medal at Jackson Invitational

On a warm humid day, the Stockbridge cross country teams took part in the Jackson Invitational and came away with some top-notch finishes Saturday, September 21.

The Panthers had seven runners earn individual medals and the girls’ team finished third and the boys fourth in the Division 3/4 race at Ella Sharp Park in Jackson.

Earning medals for top 30 finishes for the girls were Rylee Tolson (1st), Katelyn Walker (12th), and Brianna Hill (15th).

Medaling for the boys’ team were Micah Bolton (10th), Collin Cook (18:48), Andy Schlaff (26th), and Dalton Satkowiak (29th).

The times for the majority of the racers in the D 3/4 race were slower than usual due to the heat and the tough, hilly course at Sharp Park.

The girls just missed out on bringing home a trophy with their third-place finish, missing second place by three points. The Panthers finished with 106, while Hillsdale Academy had 103. Jackson Lumen Christi won with 86.

Rachel Owen finished 46th for the Panthers, while Isabelle Bliss was 53rd, and Anna Schlaff 61st. 89 runners took part in the race.

The boys finished fourth with 105 points. Jonesville was 3rd with 88, Napoleon 2nd with 87, and Manchester winning with 84.

Brock Jones finished 36th for Stockbridge, while Ryan Owen was 41st, and Cameron Brewer 47th.

The Panthers will host the Stockbridge Invitational Saturday, September 28.
