Soccer Undefeated in Four Straight

After three straight wins, the Stockbridge soccer team continued its hot play of late by battling to a 1-1 tie with Lakewood in a GLAC contest Wednesday, September 18.

Lakewood came into the contest as one of the top teams in the GLAC, but it was the Panthers who led at halftime on a goal by Jonah Huskey.

The Vikings put tremendous pressure on the Panthers defense and net, peppering the goal with 34 shots, but goaltender Adam Twining was there to stop 33 of them. RJ Fillmore and Jacob Olson helped anchor the defense that made 58 clears in the contest as the Vikings kept the ball in the Panther end most of the night.

This was an amazing feat since the Panthers played with 11 players, just enough to field a team with no subs.

“The team is bonding well together,” Coach Brent Young said. “They have to, there aren’t any subs!

The Panthers return to action Tuesday vs Livingston Christian.
