St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Receives 2020 Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award for Patient Experience
CHELSEA, Mich. (Sept. 14, 2020) – St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea (SJMC) has been named a 2020 Guardian of Excellence Award® winner by Press Ganey for the sixth year in a row. The hospital has been recognized for achieving the 95th percentile or above in the area of Patient Experience in the Emergency Department and Inpatient Behavioral Health.
According to SJMC President and CEO Nancy Graebner, the award represents an important recognition from the industry’s leader in measuring, understanding, and improving the delivery of care. “We are thrilled to be recognized once again as one of the top-performing health care organizations in the country when it comes to patient experience. This is no small achievement, and we are grateful to our entire organization for the work they do each day to ensure that each patient receives safe, high-quality care throughout their stay with us.”
The Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award is a nationally recognized symbol of achievement in health care. Presented annually, the award honors clients who consistently sustained performance in the top 5% of all Press Ganey clients for each reporting period during the course of one year. This year’s data was collected April 2019 through March 2020.
