Stockbridge 1994 State Championship Cross Country Team to be Honored with Ceremony
Stockbridge High School will be honoring the 25-year Anniversary of the 1994 Class B State Championship Cross Country Team at halftime of the home football game against Lakewood Friday, October 4.
The state championship was the first in school history, which the squad repeated with back-to-back titles in 1995.
The team will be having a dinner for the former athletes and their families prior to the game and will be honored at halftime.
“We are going to have a social tent set up at the football game and asking that all former Stockbridge boys and girls cross country runners to attend and show support and reunite with old friends,” Cross Country Coach Steve Allison said. Allison was a member of the championship team.
The team was coached by Jim and Anita Lister and it is very likely that they will make the trip home for the event.
Stockbridge beat out Fremont for the state title by scoring 142 points to Fremont’s 177.
Members of the team to be honored are Jon Glynn, Brian Boos, Jakob Steffey, Shaun DeMint, Jamey Lister, Andy Smith. Ed Bennett, David Allison, Jeremy Clark, Matt Ashby, Tim Boring, Adam King, Nathan Schulz, Steve Allison, Tom Tucker, and Maurice Pendall.
