Stockbridge Library goes wild…with live animal program

by Jenny Smith

The Stockbridge Branch of the Capital Area District Library went wild May 1 when a representative from Potter Park Zoo presented a live animal program.

A box turtle, blue-tongued skink, Chilean rose haired tarantula, domestic rat, and a hedgehog-like tenrec from Madagascar all raised eyebrows and squeals of delight among all in attendance.

More than 45 children and adults watched presentations, excitedly awaiting a turns at touching an otter pelt, rhino skin, turtle shell, and elephant skin. For those who missed out on the fun, check out cadl.org to see when the program will be presented at other libraries or stop in and use your card to check out a zoo pass.
