Gabe Hejnal’s friends, and most everyone he meets, are likely to describe the five-year-old kindergartner as friendly, nice, kind, and sharing. Gabe is quick-witted and vivacious, and most importantly, has a kind and generous heart. This son of Darren and Laura Hejnal has attended Stockbridge Community Schools since preschool.

Gabe loves music and fellowship and is especially focused on his faith in God and his family. In fact, spending time with his siblings ranks as one of his favorite activities. He is the second of four children: Zeke (7), Daniel (3), and the most recent addition, Annie (3 months).

What Gabe loves most about living in Stockbridge is his neighborhood, he says, and his favorite school activities include science, music, gym classes, and rest time. At the moment, his favorite book is “the Spider Man book from the library.”

When asked about Gabe as a student, his teacher Mrs. Dalton described him as a pleasure to have in class. “He consistently demonstrates panther pride and is a great role model to his peers,” she said. “Gabe has a great attitude, a pleasant personality and is well liked by his classmates.”

Gabe Hejnal, a strong young man who is faithful, intelligent, and a remarkable brother to his three siblings, hopes to become a police officer when he grows up—an admirable goal for an admirable young man with a bright future ahead of him.

Congratulations go to Gabe Hejnal, SCN’s January 2019 Student Spotlight recipient. Your community is proud of you.
