Szumlinski, Lockhart to Play in Lansing Softball All Star Game

The Stockbridge softball team ended a successful softball season in early June and post-season awards are being announced and a pair of Panthers will take part in the Lansing All-Star game Wednesday night.

Seniors Arin Szumlinski and Hannah Lockhart will play for the Lansing South team against the North All Stars at Rainey Park in Lansing at 8:00 PM June 23rd along with other players, from Charlotte, Fowlerville, Fulton, and Olivet.

Both Szumlinski and Lockhart were named 1st Team All-GLAC and to the All-District team this season. Szumlinski was also named the teams Most Valuable Player for 2021.

Bailey Bartrum was also named 1st team All-GLAC pitcher, All-District and Best Defensive Player. McKenzie Noble was 2nd team All-GLAC and an All-District selection and was named Best Offensive Player, while Joslynn Caskey was Honorable Mention All-GLAC and earned All-District honors.

Noble, Bartrum, and Caskey also earned All-Region Honors for the Panthers.

Most Improved Offensive player went to Ashlee Grumelot and Madi Mazuca, while Lillian Thomas was named Most Improved Defensive player.

Grace Drier was named the Most Improved Player, while Alexis Hightower earned the Team Hustle Award.

The Panthers finished their season with a 23-15 record.
