The Stockbridge community celebrates its agricultural roots with the tractor show

The oldest tractor at the show was the 1935 John Deere owned by Kim Smith, the chairperson of the event. Smith (pictured here) told the Stockbridge Community News, “This event would not have been possible without the help of Mick Watters, Bob Wallo, Mel Ballard, and everyone who took time to exhibit.”

This 2012 John Deere tractor, owned by John Pidd and pictured with son Jesse, is the newest tractor at the show. This 560 hp tractor is satellite controlled. It can drive itself and knows where it’s been.

80+ exhibits were made possible by many local farmers wanting to educate the community on the role of farming.

George Harding demonstrates his drag saw or “chain saw of the past.” How would you like to heat your house cutting logs like this?

Lots of shopping was available for collectors of farm toys.
