Volleyball Continues to Struggle

The Stockbridge volleyball team continued its season long struggle by going 1-6 last week.

The Panthers hosted the Stockbridge Invitational Saturday, September 27 and went 0-3 on the day. The fell to Homer 17-25, 14-25; Dansville 24-26, 21-25; and Maple Valley 19-25, 20-25.

Grace Hall and a big day by leading the Panthers with 39 digs, 22 kills, and 13 service points.
Madison Mazuca chipped in with 22 assist and 17 points,. Arin Szumlinski added 21 digs, while Gwen Rogozinski had seven kills, and Maddy Dalton seven assists.
The Panthers then fell to state power Lakewood in three sets 5-25, 12-25, 13-25.
Szumlinski led the team with 16 digs, while Hall had eight digs and seven kills. Mazuca finished with six assists.
The Panthers played some of their best volleyball of the season Tuesday, September 29 going 1-2 at a tough Williamston quad.
They defeated Williamston 25-22, 23-25, 25-21 and dropped a hard fought three set match to Okemos 25-17, 17-25, 11-25; and fell to Corunna 15-25, 15-25.
Hall had 20 kills and 12 points to lead Stockbridge, while Mazuca had 25 points and 20 assists. Szumlinski led in digs with 40, followed by Rogozinski with 29. Alaina Kellenberger had five kills, while Dalton had six assists.
The Panthers will host Leslie Tuesday and travel to Napoleon Thursday.
