Volleyball Finishes Third in GLAC

The Stockbridge volleyball team had a strong showing at the GLAC Tournament last weekend, finishing 2-1 on the day and locking up a third place finish in the conference.

The Panthers entered the tournament seeded fourth and opened the day with a 25-16, 25-13 win over Perry to advance to the semifinals.

They met GLAC champion Lakewood in the semis and the Vikings were too much for the Panthers, falling 21-25, 10-25 to move them to the third place match.

The faced Olivet, who they had beat in four sets earlier in the week and once again were victorious, beating the Eagles 25-17, 25-13 to clinch third place.

Grace Hall led the Panthers with 20 kills and six digs on the day. Breanna Sayler had 21 service points and eight digs, while Madison Mazuca had 17 assists. Kaylie Shepard finished with 17 service points and 10 assists.

The Panthers finished 5-4 in the GLAC and 14-16-4 overall.

They will begin Division 3 district play at Dansville against Laingsburg Tuesday, November 5 at 7:00PM. Winner will play Dansville Thursday night and the championship game is Saturday, November 9 at 10:00 AM.
